Former West Indies, Trinidad and Tobago and Leeward Islands cricketer Runako Morton died in a road accident Sunday night.
Media reports say Morton's vehicle hit a light pole on the Solomon Hochoy Highway and he lost control of the vehicle and died at the scene. He was 33.
Morton played 15 Tests for West Indies. He cored 573 runs with an average of 22.03. He also played 56 One-day internationals (ODI) and seven Twenty20s. He scored 1,519 runs in ODIs, averaging 33.75.
Morton was born in Nevis and represented the Leeward Islands in first class cricket, and more recently, T&T. His first class record was 5,980 runs at an average of 39.60.
