Corbie is new COO at Caribbean Airlines

Caribbean Airlines (CAL) announced on Thursday that Robert Corbie has been appointed as Chief Operating Officer.

Corbie is an experienced airline executive and operations professional who started his career at BWIA as a customer service agent. He worked in many different positions, moving up the ranks as director of airports and senior director, operations.

At Caribbean Airlines, he has served as regional director, sales, and more recently as vice president. Under his tenure, the airline has added new routes, upgraded its fleet, boosted cargo and duty free operations and has been voted the “Best Caribbean Airline” by the World Travel Awards for two consecutive years.

He has also been responsible for the integration of the Air Jamaica and Caribbean Airlines brands and has successfully positioned the airline as a leader in the industry.

In November 2010, CAL appointed Corbie acting CEO; he continues to hold that position.
