Functions to commemorate the 50th anniversary of bicameralism in T&T were held recently and I would have assumed that all current and former Members of Parliament would have been invited. Not that I wish to have been invited since I hardly ever journey into Port-of-Spain. 

But I am reflecting on the principle and protocol. 

I have successfully fought five general elections from 1981 to 2000 and served as an MP for 20 years. 

I have been living at the present address for 25 years and my telephone number has not changed. I have not received an invitation to attend any of the events organised though MPs who have served just one five-year term or less have been invited. 

All I can conclude is that somebody up there does not like me. The level of pettiness is truly amazing.
