PM Kamla congratulates T&T 'Red Force' team

T&T team celebrates victory over Cape Cobras in Chennai, India on Tuesday

Prime Minister Kamla Persad Bissessar on Tuesday commended the Trinidad and Tobago “Red Force” Cricket Team on their recent showing at the Champions Twenty20 League. 

In a media release she said, “I wish to take this opportunity to applaud the Trinidad and Tobago National Cricket Team for once again producing the talent, determination and heart required to secure yet another nail biting victory, this time against Cape Cobras in their final Preliminary round match in the Champions Twenty20 League. 

"The Red Force demonstrated the “never give up” approach that has become the character of the team, allowing them to secure yet another victory against world class opponents.”

Persad-Bissessar noted that although the team did not qualify for the semifinals, its third place finish in its Group "is a remarkable achievement".

She said the team would be remembered and saluted throughout the cricketing world as a National team that demonstrated the commitment and pride worthy of true Ambassadors of our country.

The Prime Minister added that the nation would continue to support the team and expect even more successful performances in their future endeavors, both at Regional and International levels.
