Letter: Moonilal, CEPEP boss make a great team

I have to say that the Minister of Housing and the Environment, Dr Roodal Moonilal and the chairman of the Cepep Company Ltd, Adesh Deonarine, make a great team in the fight against unemployment and the landless.

I feel sorry for those who have no houses and are unable to get a job but here are these two men who are willing to provide the public with a hopeful embrace.

“Land for the landless” is what the minister calls it, a policy that will distribute land to the low-income workers of this country.

Indeed, there are too many families who have lost their houses or have no place to stay and they require a form of refuge, a place that they can call their home. Please, Minister Moonilal, help them, they need you.

I congratulate Deonarine for launching the occupational safety and health programme for the benefit of the workers.

The company, despite its many irregularities, has taken steps forward in educating its workers about proper safety in the work environment.

I believe this is a great initiative because Cepep workers can be endangered by working on roadsides and with the tools that they use. In addition, the workers are being educated and tested, according to the chairman.

It is amazing that the company is aiming at better its workers. Thumbs up to the Housing Minister and the Cepep chairman. Keep up the good work.
