Dr. Vincent Lasse was installed on friday as the new chairman of the Board of Directors at the Public Transport Service Corporation (PTSC).
Former chairman Devant Maharaj, who has been promoted to the post of Transport Minister, presented lass with his instruments of appointment at the PTSC Board Room.
Lasse is a former cabinet minister who served under Prime Minister Basdeo Panday. he was originally elected as a member of the People's National Movement (PNM) as the MP for Point Fortin. However he crossed the floor along with another PNM member at the time - Dr Rupert Griffith - to join the Panday administration.
Last failed to get re-elected when he contested the seat seat as a candidate for the United National Congress (UNC).
Speaking at the ceremony, Lass said he hopes to transform the PTSC into a state of the art service, with GPS updates and timely schedules.
