Trinidad and Tobago's Ambassador to Brazil and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Uruguay, Paraguay, Chile and Argentina, Dr Hamza Rafeeq, has presented credentials to the President of Uruguay, José Alberto Mujica Cordano.
At the presentation Rafeeq discussed trade and technical cooperation between the two countries, including the export of LNG and asphalt to Uruguay and technical cooperation in the field of agriculture.

The President of Uruguay told Rafeeq that Uruguay needs LNG and offered T&T technical assistance in the field of dairy farming.
Officials suggested that Trinidad and Tobago should consider appointing an Honorary Consul in Uruguay. Rafeeq promised to raise the matter with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Surujrattan Rambachan.
