Seven pitbulls owned by a police officer attacked and killed a woman on her way to work Monday.
The animals attacked security guard Denise Rackal, 46, on the street outside their owner's house in the Edinburgh 500, Chaguanas development.
Media reports say it happened just after six in the morning as the woman was walking to her workplace at the site of a government housing project. The reports say she stopped to buy a newspaper when the dogs attacked.
PC Ryan Isaac witnessed the attacks and called police and paramedics. The Express newspaper quoted neighbours as saying that the dogs had attacked people at least four times in the past.
They are calling for the pitbulls to be euthanised.
Last month two dogs attacked four-year-old Ezekiel Renne-Cambridge,as he walked near his home in Palmiste, South Trinidad. She is still recovring from the attack.
