Minister of Health Therese Baptiste-Cornelis on Monday presented cheques to three families to assist them with urgent medical tyreatement for their children at medical facilities abroad.
The money - amounting to $662,200 - is from the Children's Life Fund, established by Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar last year to provide emergency medical care and surgery for procedures which are not available at home.
All three children need urgent heart surgeries. The money was distributed as follows:

- The family of Sarvesh Dindial, 10: $141,462.20. for treatment at the Joe Dimaggio Children's Hospital in Florida
- The family of Briana Olton: $257,204 for treatment at the Miller School of Medicine, University of Miami
- The family of Jeshu Campbell: $263,634.10 for care at Nationwide Children's Hospital in Ohio
