PM Kamla turns sod Tuesday to start Union Hall housing development


Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissesssar will on Tuesday turn to sod to signal the start of construction of a new housing development in at Cypress Hills, Union Hall, San Fernando.

The development of one of the projects that in the People's Partnership's $500 million housing thrust announced by Housing Minister Dr Roodal Moonilal.

Moonilal has promised that the development projects to build 2,500 houses in the first phase will create 3,500 jobs immediately.

The housing projects, he said, would include 800 houses in Pineapple South Lands, D’Abadie; 700 units in Princes Town and another 700 at Union Hall, San Fernando.

Moonilal said this is only some of what the Kamla government is doing in this year of delivery. 

“This year we will deliver,” he told supporters of the United National Congress last month at a function to celebrate the first anniversary of Kamla Persad-Bissessar's election as leader of the party.
