The Appeal court on Wednesday denied bail to businessmen Ishwar Galbaransingh and Steve Ferguson who have been in custody since December last year.
The decision means both men would have to remain at the Maximum Security Prison in Golden Grove, Arouca pending the resolution of their extradition matter.
The two men had appealed a decision by a High Court judge to deny them bail. However the court headed by Chief Justice Ivor Archie refused bail, saying the court had no jurisdiction to rule on the matter since the men had brought a civil action against the judge.
Galbaransingh and Ferguson petitioned the Appeal Court after Justice Andre Mon Desir refused to grant them bail on December 22nd last year.
They are challenging a decision by Attorney General Anand Ramlogan to sign off on the extradition warrants to the United States, where they are wanted on several charges arising out of the Piarco Airport Project.
