PM Kamla to open seminar for chairmen, members of State boards

Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar is on Saturday scheduled to deliver the opening address at a Seminar for appointed chairmen and board members of State Corporations and Committees.

The all day session begins at nine in the morning at the National Academy for the Performing Arts in Port of Spain.

The seminar deals with issues of Governance such as the roles and responsibilities of board members, ethical conduct of board members, and the prospects and challenges of the State Enterprises Sector.

Last year Persad-Bissessar hosted a similar session at the Diplomatic Centre at which Attorney general Anand Ramlogan outlined the legal responsibilities for all board members and chairmen, with special reference to the rules relating to reporting to the Integrity Commission.
