Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar will deliver the feature address at the launch the book, Zalayhar – Life of First Lady, next Wednesday at the National Academy for the Performing Arts (NAPA).
The biography of former First Lady, Zalayhar Hassanali, is a collaborative effort of Professors Brinsley Samaroo, Kenneth Ramchand and freelance journalist, Yvonne Teelucksingh.
The book traces Mrs Hassanali's life from her children in the countryside to the President's House.
Zalayhar Hassanali was an independent woman who also stood with her husband, President Noor Hassanali, through his long career. She is remembered as one of the country's most outstanding public figures.
