The one-person public inquiry into Clico and the Hindu Credit Union begins next month.
On Wednesday President Max Richards handed Sir Anthony Colman his instrument of appointment to conduct the inquiry.
Attorney General Anand Ramlogan is planning to meet Sir Anthony Thursday to discuss matters relating to the enquiry. Colman leaves for London after that meeting.
Sir Anthony has replaced Sir Gavin Lightman who declined the assignment after he admitted that he had not told the government that he had represented CLICO 20 years ago in the takeover of Republic Bank.
The Enquiry will look into the causes, reasons, and circumstances leading to the deterioration of the financial conditions at CLICO, CLICO Investment Bank Ltd, British American Insurance Company (Trinidad) Ltd and Caribbean Money Market Brokers. It will also investigate what led to the problems at the HCU.
