People's Partnership wins majority in 2010 GE in T&T

The People's Partnership (PP) won a landslide in the General Election in Trinidad and Tobago Monday, heralding a historic era in the country's politics.

Kamla Persad-Bissessar, the leader of the People's Partnership, will become the first female Prime Minister of the country.

Prime Minister Patrick Manning won his San Fernando East seat which he has won in every election since he was first elected in 1971.

The final unofficial result is 29 seats for the partnership and 12 for the PNM.
