Letter: Kamla faces no obstacles

The National Executive has launched a national membership mobilisation drive and a Meet the Constituency Tour which has already started.

Committees are being established to engage the Party membership and critical stakeholders in developing policy positions on major issues affecting the livelihood of citizens. These would facilitate the re-branding and transformation of the UNC into a credible government-in-waiting.

The National Executive has already appointed a committee headed by Deputy Political Leader, Dr Roodal Moonilal, to develop the framework to advance discussions on uniting the opposition forces.

This framework would provide clear guidelines to hold and advance unity talks.

I want to make the point that Mrs Persad-Bissessar and the National Executive will not allow the present uncertainty with respect to the position of the Leader of the Opposition to be an obstacle to positioning the UNC to take on the PNM at either a Local or General Election.
