Police are questioning 11 persons in connection with the seizure of illegal weapons and ammunition at two houses in the Malabar, Arima Saturday morning.
Media reports say four of them are related to Pennelope 'Penny' Beckles-Robinson, including a male relative who has worked with her campaign.

Beckles-Robinson is the sole challenger to Keith Rowley for the post of leader of the PNM in the party's May 18 internal election.

Police displayed the arms and ammunication at a media briefing they held Saturday at the Arima Police Station. They told reporters they executed search warrants at both houses following "months of surveillance".

The weapons included one AK47 assault rifle, one pump action shotgun, one .44 revolver and one .357 revolver at one house. They found 37 rounds of ammunition at the other location.
