Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force Reserves from November 2013 until March 2014

From the FB page of PM Kamla Persad-Bissessar:

The Cabinet of Trinidad and Tobago has approved the call out for duty of an additional Fifty (50) members of the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force Reserves from November 2013 until March 2014.

The decision to “call out” the Reserves was taken in order to increase the presence and visibility of joint patrols and to strengthen the compliment of law enforcement officers within the traditionally crime prone business and shopping areas throughout Trinidad and Tobago.

The use of the Reserves during this period is in keeping with the continued efforts of the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force to augment its operational duties in support of the current mandate to assist the Police Service and other arms of the Protective Services in the fight against criminal activity.

The additional manpower will assist the Force in preparing for and meeting its operational commitments throughout the 2013 Christmas and 2014 Carnival season. As a result of these measures the public can expect a greater visibility of joint patrols and can feel a sense of safety and security while conducting their daily affairs.
