Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar assured the nation on Monday night that there is no Swine flu epidemic and that her government is making every effort to ensure that it stays that way.
"I have spoken with the Minister of Health who has given me a comprehensive update on our readiness to prevent an outbreak," she said at a political meeting in Chaguanas.
"I have since instructed the Minister of Health that 15,000 vaccines are not enough, that we must have at least a stock of four times that amount and we must find the additional vaccines immediately.

"I am very happy to inform the nation that the Minister of Health has since sources 60,000 H1N1 vaccines through a collaboration with the Pan-American Health Organisation (PAHO) and these vaccines will be in Trinidad & Tobago within the next 5 to 7 days."
