Gary Griffith named National Security Minister in T&T

Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar on Thursday announced a realignment of her cabinet with several changes.

Gary Griffith is the new minister of national security. Marlene Coudray is taking over the local government ministry from Suruj Rambachan who is staying in the ministry of works. Jamal Mohammed has been fired as communications minister; he is succeeded by Gerry Hadeed. 

Clifton De Coteau has taken over the gender, youth and child development ministry. Raziah Ahmed has been appointed to the Senate and made a Minister in the Ministry of Gender, Youth and Child Development.


In the realigned cabinet, Roodal Moonilal's ministry has been split in two, Chandresh Sharma has moved to tourism and Stephen Cadiz has been handed the transport portfolio. Jairam Seemungal has got a ministry, as has Rodger Samuel. Emmanuel George has moved from National Security to the Justice Ministry, replacing Christlyn Moore, whose senate appointment has also been revoked.
