Attorney Wesley Debideen murdered at Grand Bazaar

A gunman shot and killed attorney Dr Wesley Debideen at the Grand Bazaar shopping mall on Tuesday afternoon. Debideen was 68. 

A witness to the crime told local media the gunman fired several shots at Debideen, who was sitting in his car. The Express newspaper reported that the witness stated that the gunman "fired several times, walked a few feet away, then turned and went back, emptying several more shots into his victim".

Debideen represented Harry Harnarine, the president of the Hindu Credit Union, at the Commission of Enquiry into CLICO and the HCU.

Police have not made an arrest.
