UNC closes CWC campaign with Kumar Sanu as special guest

The United National Congress (UNC) on Saturday closes its election campaign for the Chaguanas West byelection with a rally at Pierre Road, Felicity featuring Indian playback singer Kumar Sanu.

Sanu is considered one of the leading playback singers in the Indian Film Industry. He was awarded the Filmfare Best Male Playback Singer Award for five consecutive years. In 2009, the Government of India awarded him Padma Shri to honour his achievements.

The rally is in support of Khadijah Ameen. The political leader of the UNC, Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar would deliver the feature address. 

Ameen is facing several opponents, most notably the former MP for the constituency, Jack Warner, who is the candidate for his new Independent Liberal Party.
