Jack extends Ramadan greetings

The Holy Month of Ramadan is a sacred period when Muslims throughout the world focus on renewing their connection with Allah, The Beneficent and Merciful.

During this time they engage in fasting, prayer and on reflecting on the teachings and principles of their religion. Observing the Ramadan Fast is also one of the Five Pillars of Islam; so important is this act.

On this auspicious occasion of the commencement of the Holy Month of Ramadan, on behalf of the members and supporters of the Independent Liberal Party as well as on my own behalf, I extend best wishes to the Muslim Community.

It is my hope that every Muslim would enjoy a successful fast – that they will keep the observance on as many days as they can and even hopefully maintain the fast on every day until the end of the Holy Month – and, in doing so, derive the maximum blessing for their devotion.

It is my wish that they will enjoy the maximum benefit of inner peace and connection with Allah through the keeping of the fast. It is my hope that their faith in this great religion would be strengthened.

I wish this because our country and our citizens are going through a period – as we have been for several years now – where more than ever before we need the strength and guidance of God in our lives and in our communities so that negative forces can be defeated and so that Good can once again flourish.

Ramadan Mubarak!
