The former UNC MP Jack Warner has said he wants to run again for the party and plans to deliver his nomination papers Thursday to the party's headquarters in Couva.
He had expressed concerns that if Rambachan sat on the screening committee there would be a bias against him. However on Wednesday the UNC Deputy Leader gave the assurance that he won't be on the committee.
"I would recuse myself from the screening. I don’t want Mr Warner to feel uncomfortable. I wish him the best,” Rambachan told Guardian.

Warner has not said what he would do if the party rejects his nomination. There is speculation that he might run as an independent. However he told JYOTI he has not made any decision on that and sees no reason why his party won't nominate him.
