PM Kamla attends America-Africa Business forum in Washington DC

Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar Prime Minister leaves for Washington DC on Sunday to attend the Americas-Africa Business Forum, which has been organised by the Organisation of American States (OAS). She will return home on April 20. During her absence Foreign Minister Winston Dookeran will be acting Prime Minister.

During the visit Persad-Bissessar will hold a series of meetings and at the Forum she will participate in discussions on the theme: “New Commercial Partnerships for Economic Growth”. She is scheduled to speak at the event along with the Prime Minister of Nambia, Dr. Hage Geingob.

In Washington the Prime Minister also attend the “Spirits of the Americas” charity event where she will receive an award for her commitment to promoting issues affecting women and children in the Americas.

In a media release Thursday the PM said she is looking forward to the discussions in Washington. She added that T&T would "continue to aggressively pursue new international partnerships in order to continue stimulating economic growth and further development".
