Orange Grove Estate to be developed for Agriculture

Farm lands at Orange Grove Estate
The Ministry of Food Production has approved the applications of 63 applicants for farms at Orange Grove Estate from a total of 171 received from squatters who had been squatting in the estate.

The ministry invited bids from nationals, including squatters who were occupying the lands at estate as part of it efforts to improve the food and security of Trinidad and Tobago.

Altogether the ministry approved 263 applications, 63 of which were from squatters. Officials are now completing surveys of the lands for final distribution.

In a media release, the ministry said food security "is of paramount importance to our nation and the Minister and The Ministry of Food Production is committed to working with all farmers including farmers at the Orange Grove Estate."
