The Water and Sewerage Authority has almost completed maintenance work at its desalination plant at Point Lisas. WASA shut down the plant for 10 days to undertake necessary works at the plant, causing a loss of supplies to tens of thousands of consumers.
WASA minimised the inconvenience by having scheduled lock off of water to areas in central and south Trinidad that were affected.
On Wednesday the authority's head of corporate communications Ellen Lewis said work is proceeding as scheduled.
“Customers in central and south Trinidad should expect a normalisation in supply in accordance with their established schedules over a 24-hour period,” Lewis said.
The plant provides 30 million gallons of desalinated water to WASA which is used to supply the Pt Lisas Industrial Estate.
