New terminal for Tobago airport; work starts in October

Tobago's ANR Robinson International Airport is getting a $150 million makeover that would make it a state of the art facility. Work on the project could begin as early as October.

The chairman of the Airports Authority of Trinidad and Tobago (AATT), Gerald Hadeed, made the announcement Tuesday at Piarco at the launch of a team of customer service representatives (CSRs).

Hadeed said the major work would be in addition to refurbishment works costing some $24 million curently being done at the airport. He said there would be a new and expanded terminal facility in Tobago.

Hadeed said a request for proposals (RFP) has been published in the local newspapers, inviting companies to submit their interests for the buildng the new Tobago airport.

“So Tobago, we are thinking of you and we are going to do everything in our power to bring better service, quality service, to the citizens of Tobago and the passengers that visit there,” Hadeed said.
