On May 20th 2010, at a mass meeting in HiLo carpark, Eastern Main Road, St Augustine, in a message pointed to non-PNM voters, the PNM leadership advised all voters what to keep in mind four days later, when the polls opened: that the 2010 General Election was one where vital interests were at stake, therefore voters must not fall for the old talk that if they don’t vote for a particular party, they'd be voting against their race.
I was there. I wrote it down in a copybook for future reference, just in case.
The outcome of those elections has been an equitable approach to national development: where ALL parts of our Republic are getting attention, not just Port of Spain alone.
