Shubh Divali from all of us at JYOTI

Whatever the religious or historical background, the universal message of Divali is the triumph of light over darkness, good over evil. We have the power to triumph because both elements reside within us; when we allow room for spirituality, good triumphs and make us better citizens. Our world today is under siege, our communities under threat, our future insecure because of the presence of dark forces everywhere.

Divali is a reminder that we are what we do. Let us nurture good over evil, shed light over darkness now and forever.
In our Divali prayer we ask the Divine Mother Lakshmi’s blessings to destroy our enemies – hate, greed, lust, ignorance, selfishness and the myriad distractions that nourish the negative elements within us.

We have to consciously cultivate good through prayer and service to one another; we have to build better communities by influencing others to live according to the highest Hindu principles – truth, compassion, mercy and charity.

We have a duty, a responsibility to make our world and our respective communities a better place for our selves, our neighbours and for future generations.

We can only do this be keeping the message of Divali alive and by dedicating ourselves to discarding everything negative and evil.

In the end, no matter what we might be tempted to believe in our moments of despair, God almighty will triumph over evil.

You have that Godliness within you in your heart and soul.

Use it. Destroy evil.

And tomorrow will be a better day.

Happy Divali from all of us.
