This is a picture of Ellis Clarke receiving Holy Communion from Pope John Paul II during his official state visit to Trinidad and Tobago on 5th February, 1985. 

It's relevant in the context of the current national conversation about religion, politics and the state. Trinidad & Tobago seems to have a collective memory loss about “representing” the state as opposed to one's religion during a State visit.
