“We may not always agree with whatever is printed or published by the media — whether it is the newspaper, radio and television, but be sure of this, we will give our lives for you to have the freedom to be able to publish or print whatever you so choose, once you do not defame anyone or enter into any scene that may cause some libellous or some matter that might have to be defamation of character...
“We will give our lives to be able to make sure you have the freedom and the right to publish and to be free. We have a deep commitment to the free press in Trinidad and Tobago.”
