The world media have been on overdrive reporting on Hurricane Sandy and its rampage through the United States and Canada.
Millions have been affected and at least 17 people died. However before Sandy devastated America, the storm created havoc in parts of the Caribbean where scores of deaths were reported.
It seems that for most of the conventional media the misery in Jamaica, Cuba, Haiti and the Dominican Republic are not as important as what the Americans suffered.
