We salute our Muslim brothers and sisters on the occasion of EID-UL-ADHA 2012, which will take place on Friday, 26th. October.
Eid-ul-Adha, the greater of the 2 EIDS, pays tribute to the dedication and sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim and his passion for righteousness and love of mankind.
In this celebration of Eid, we see several lessons for all citizens of our blessed country.
Prophet Ibrahim showed us his determination in the face of tremendous obstacles; he reminded us how important it is for us to stand for what we believe in, even if we have to stand alone.
Prophet Ibrahim taught us the significance of Faith in the Almighty and that no matter what we do, we must always put our absolute trust in our Creator and Sustainer.
As we prepare to celebrate Eid-ul-Adha, we remember our Muslim brothers and sisters of Trinidad and Tobago who will be amongst the millions of Muslims from around the world who are presently in Saudi Arabia as part of the annual Hajj Pilgrimage. This is the largest, single gathering of mankind in the world and it is truly a spectacle to behold and witness.
My Government pays tribute to all who have gone to the Hajj and we pledge our continued support to facilitate those who wish to make that trip.
Eid Mubarak to one and all and may Almighty God accept your prayers and sacrifices.
