Taxi driver charged with murder in death of Michelle Coudray-Greaves

Michelle Coudray-Greaves
Jamaican police have charged a taxi driver with the abduction and murder of Michelle Coudray-Greaves, the daughter of Minister of Gender Affairs, Marlene Coudray.

The accused is Ivan Taylor, 46.
He is due to appear before the Montego Bay Resident Magistrates Court this week to answer the charges.

Michelle was killed in Montego Bay last month and her body was later found in a cane field. It was burned beyond recognition and had to be identified through dental records produced by her mother.
An autopsy concluded that Coudray-Greaves was beaten to death with a blunt object.

Michelle was a teacher. She was separated from her Jamaican husband and her three children live in Trinidad with their grand mother. Coudray told local media the children are having difficulty dealing with their mother’s death.

“We are trying to assist them with coping." She said she is making every effort to have the children stay with her. "It is what my daughter would have wanted,” she told the Guardian newspaper.
