Thousands of citizens staged a two-hour March for Peace Sunday starting in San Juan and ending in Port of Spain. The event was sponsored by the Roman Catholic Church.
Government ministers Jack Warner, Collin Partap and Anil Roberts joined the walk but told reporters they were there to walk for the Lord, not for politics.
Archbishop Joseph Harris was not present but delivered a recorded message from one of music trucks parked near the Croisee in San Juan.

"Pray for your country, pray for yourselves and pray for me," he urged the group. He asked them to use the collective goodwill of prayer to reunify Trinidad and Tobago. Harris was unable to attend because he is in Rome.
The March for Jesus included Christian groups from across the country and included Anglicans, Shouter Baptists, Methodists and the Salvation Army.
