Japan's Ambassador to Trinidad & Tobago, Yoshimasa Tezuka, paid a courtesy call Monday on Surujrattan Rambachan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Communications. Earlier the ambassador presented Letters of Credence to President Richards.
Rambachan briefed the ambassador on the bilateral agenda between Trinidad and Tobago and Japan. Tokyo is funding a local project to promote Greenhouse Farming at Primary and Secondary schools in the country.
The aim of the project is to sensitise students to aspects of agriculture primarily entailing the use of extensive technology. The project will initially be conducted in five schools across Trinidad and Tobago.
The Ambassador thanked Trinidad and Tobago for its assistance following the March 11, 2011, earthquake and tsunami.
