The principal and proprietor of Blackman Private School, Arlene Blackman, appeared in court Friday accused of assaulting two of her pupils by placing their heads in a toilet and flushing it.
Magistrate Christine Charles did not call on Blackman, 68, to enter a plea on the charges, which arose out of an alleged incident at the school on Saddle Road, Maraval, on January 24.
The charge carries a fine of up to $10,000 or up to two years in prison.
The magistrate ordered the media not to publish the names of the alleged victims, aged nine and 10. She also fixed Blackman’s bail at $150,000. Blackman is expected to reappear in court on February 16.
