Rambachan says he never stayed at Carlton Savahhan

Suruj Rambachan told the Express newspaper on Saturday he never stayed at the the Carlton Savannah.

The Foreign Affairs and Communications Minister made the comment in response to a statement in parliament on Friday by former Prime Minister Patrick Manning.

Manning told legislators Rambachan was a regular guest at the St Ann's hotel.

"Mr Speaker, the very distinguished member for Tabaquite...chooses not to use the Hyatt hotel, but he chooses to use the Carlton Savannah. He goes elsewhere and, in fact, I plan to visit next week Tuesday at the Carlton Savannah."

Rambachan told the paper Manning has "lost his head". He added that he has not stayed at any of the two hotels Manning mentioned.

"I have never stayed at the Hyatt. Mr Manning has lost his head. He is trying to find a place in politics, but he is irrelevant, just as the PNM is to the country," the minister said.

Rambachan said he believed Manning's tirade is aimed at upstaging PNM Leader Keith Rowley. Manning's actions, he said, show a clear division in the party.
