The regional commuter airline LIAT began offering limited service on Thursday after two days of cancellations due to a sickout by pilots protesting the dismissal of the head of the pilots' union.
LIAT fired Captain Blackburn on Monday without giving any reason. The airline stated in a brief release that it would have nothing more to say about the firing of the senior pilot.
The next day pilots called in sick and the airline was forced to cancel flights. They repeated the action on Wednesday with the same result.
On Thursday the airline issued a release stating that some pilots have returned to work and that limited servbice would be available.
