Jack Warner explained that the national executive (Natex) took a decision at its last meeting to postpone the elections for two months.

However he stated that Panday's utterances and his actions suggest that he is "destroying the very legacy he should uphold." He added, "I wish him well as I would wish any other contender."
Warner also said if he decides to run for re-election he would stand alone as he did in 2010.
