A report in the Express newspaper Saturday states that Director of Public Prosecutions Roger Gaspard said on Friday that police have not consulted him in connection with an alleged plot to destabilise the country and assassinate Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar and three Government Ministers.
The paper said it contacted Gaspard who said "NO" when asked whether he or his Office has been in contact with the police with their probe.
It quoted the DPP, who replied in a text message: "Sir, to date, the police have not contacted me in relation to the prospect of them bringing criminal charges in that matter."
