The Ministry of Works and Infrastructure has launched a full investigation into the death of Harry Deonarine, who died as a result of an accident at work site on Tuesday.
The ministry said a wall fell on Deonarine, an employee of M. Ramroop Heavy Equipment and Construction Limited.
At the time he was conducting drainage works on the corner of Latchoos Trace and Penal Rock Road, Penal. Deonarine was taken to the Penal Health Centre where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Deonarine lived at Old Clark Road, Penal. He was the father of three young children, aged two, four and 10.
Another worker, Darvin Teelucksingh, was also injured at the site. He suffered lacerations to the arm and head. He was treated at Gulf View Medical and is currently at home, resting.

Minister of Works and Infrastructure Jack Warner and his junior minister, Stacy Roopnarine, have extended extend their personal condolences to the family and friends of the victims.
