7 police accused in Moruga murders remanded in custody, will be back in court Nov. 15

Seven police officers charged with murder in the deaths of three people from south Trinidad appeared in court Tuesday and were remanded in custody until November 15.

They are accused of killing Abigail Johnson, Allana Duncan and Kerron "Fingers" Eccles in July this year.

The officers have been identified as:

  • Antonio Ramdin
  • Roger Nicholas
  • Glen Singh
  • Renaldo Rivero
  • Safraz Juman
  • Kemraj Sahadeo
  • Nicole Clement
All of them are at the rank of constable. Their hearing was before Chief Magistrate Marcia Ayers-Caesar in the Port of Spain Eighth Magistrates Court on Tuesday morning. However on November 15 they will attend court in Princes Town.

DPP Roger Gaspard appeared for the State on Tuesday. The officers were represented by attorneys Israel Khan SC, Subhas Panday and Rajiv Persad.

Khan asked for a full disclosure of evidence from the State and also wanted assurances that special arrangements will be made for the officers' stay in prison.
