Police are investigating two murders in Arima over the weekend. Both victims were from a small community in Maturita, Arima, in East Trinidad.
Reports say the first murder happened on Saturday evening when a gunman walked up to Wayne “Blah” Blanc and shot him in his head. The attack happened outside Blanc's parlour. The killer escaped on foot.
Neigbours rushed Blanc to the Arima health facility where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The other victim, Kellon “Dougi” Charles, was attacked on his way home from Blanc's wake. Police believe he was killed because he might have seen Blanc's killer.
The community is in shock. Everyone reported that Blanc was well loved and that no one would have had a motive to kill him.
Blanc's wife believes that the murder might have something to do with his licensed scrap iron business.
