Trinidad and Tobago's cocoa has won the first prize in the category of ‘spicy’ in the prestigious ‘Salut du Chocolat’ in Paris, France.
It's the third time in as many years that the country has won top awards. In 2010 it won first place in the 'fruity' and 'floral' category and in the year before that it won top billing for ‘sweetness’ and ‘fruity’.

During the Paris visit Bharath was expected to meet with representatives of Chocolate Houses in addition to attending the 17th Anniversary of the Paris International Salut du Chocolat.
The Paris International Salon du Chocolat and the Professional Chocolate Show are the world’s largest events dedicated wholly to professionals in the chocolate industry and to cocoa producing countries.
The cocoa industry in the Caribbean is made up of nine cocoa producing countries: Belize, Dominica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Grenada, Haiti, Jamaica, St Lucia and Trinidad and Tobago.
