Photo story: Big POS fire destroys 4 businesses, 40 persons jobless

A fire in downtown Port of Spain Monday destroyed four businesses and left dozens of people without work. One estimate is that 40 people are now without work.

Media reports say the businesses that burned down were:

• B. Nahous and Sons Limited
• Target Discount Centre
• Wang Lee and Son’s Limited
• Toys’ Variety Centre

The four stores were located between Queen Street and Independence Square. Fire prevention officers are not sure what triggered the blaze.
