Who gave Robocop a cellphone and $$?

Police are trying to figure out how a cellular phone and a quantity of local and foreign currency ended up in the holding cell of reputed gang-leader Selwyn "Robocop" Alexis.

Police recovered the money and the phone when they raided the cell at the Gasparillo police station where they are holding Alexis.

Alexis was arrested on Tuesday night at his luxury apartment at the posh one Woodbrook Place, Woodbrook. He had been under police surveillance for several months, with investigations intensifying in the last two weeks since the state of emergency was announced.

Police are holding Alexis at the Gasparillo Police station while Southern Homicide division investigators conduct a probe into a 2008 murder. The victime, Vincent Emmanuel Simmons, was shot in his head at his home at Enterprise, Chaguanas.
