Police arrested 62 persons in the latest security operation ending Wednesday morning, bringing the total arrests since the start of the State of Emergency to 2,105.

The Police Public Information office reported that the marijuana, with a street value of $500,000, was picked up during road blocks in Siparia and Point Fortin. Six persons have been arrested in connection with the marijuana haul.
With respect to the new detainees, one of them is being held for gang related activities. The arrests are mainly for breach of curfew and serious offences, including outstanding warrants.
