State of Emergency debate: Jack Warner

"They wake up and they are not bombarded by brutal killings of any kind for the past two weeks.

"For the past two weeks, in the newspapers, you don't see the gore and the blood and the horror of the past. It is the first time in 10 years that the people of this country have felt this kind of relief.

"I make no apologies at all to say thanks to Mrs Kamla Persad-Bissessar. Thanks to the Prime Minister who had the guts and the courage to do what is right.

"Sometimes you have to do what is right, even if it is unpopular. Lucky for us, the Prime Minister has done what is right and what is popular."

-Jack Warner | MP, Chaguanas West; Minister of Works
